Time to Let Go
It is time to let go.
Not with anger, not with struggle, not even with great regret.
The old — with all its ideas, its expectations, the patterns, the "this is how it has to be" — may now be released.
It's time to let it go.
Even the hope that the decaying system could somehow still be saved or at least repaired — all of this only drags one further down.
Like a wet coat pulling one down, while trying to remain at the surface of the water.
It is no longer enough to adjust things here and there. A little more mindfulness, a little more optimization, slightly better ideas — all of this is merely a bandage on a body that no longer wishes to heal.
When viewed from a little distance, it was never truly healthy to begin with. It demanded immense energy. The price paid for it was high. It was never truly there for one.
What is really needed is far more radical: true letting go.
No “one lets go, but still keeps it in sight”, but a conscious turning away of one’s entire attention.
No more holding on to constructs that have already lost their strength.
That have long lost their legitimacy and only seem to claim they want “what is best”.
One no longer invests attention, energy and love into what was and no longer wishes to hold.
It has long ceased to support.
No resistance. No assigning of blame. No enemy image.
No “those up there”, no “those out there”, … are to blame.
No more reacting to what shouts loudly and angrily.
Enough of that. It ends here.
Now only one thing helps: to leave the entire construct behind.
Like an old car that has finally given up the ghost:
one simply leaves it by the roadside and keeps walking.
Is this now the End?
Perhaps it means the end of the old world,
but certainly not the end of the world.
Maybe letting go doesn't mean the end at all,
but rather the beginning of something truly new.
